Calling all daydreamers, travellers and freedom-seekers. The serene, expressive and feminine styles from House of Lacuna will transport you to coastal oases far and wide. With an ethical and sustainable ethos, House of Lacuna is a fashion label for the mindful and intelligent, yet playful and adventurous woman. Founded in 2019 by Naomi Swalwell, the label proudly focuses on slow, conscious design and small quantity production.
House of Lacuna is committed to establishing a new direction in the ethical fashion space while focusing on impeccable print design and craftsmanship. Since the brand’s inception, Naomi and her team have remained acutely aware of the toll the fashion industry is having on the earth, its oceans and its people. It is House of Lacuna’s mission to adhere to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), using this framework to create a closed circular loop in their supply chain.
But their efforts don’t stop there. All of House of Lacuna’s fabrics are responsibly sourced, and they only work with a handful of suppliers and makers who share their strong ethos towards creating much-needed change. House of Lacuna engage and support with local communities in Indonesia where ethical and sustainable working conditions, fabric sourcing and water management is held at the apex of importance.
The designs and styles characteristic to House of Lacuna deliver are billowing, feminine and elegant. Their beautiful, bespoke prints are designed in-house and are inspired by faraway, dreamy seascapes from around the world. And, their palette is just as ethereal and dreamy – think delicate embroidery anglaise and the softest natural fabrics in warm, apricot hues mixed with calm blues and whites. To slip on one of their delightful designs is to realise that your next journey or escape is just a garment away.
Lacuna is Latin for new space, embodying the label’s pioneering vision to merge sustainable and ethical craftsmanship with luxury resort wear that celebrates the coastal spirit.
Our exciting new Australian fashion label is helping to set new standards on ethical manufacturing traceability and is proving that sustainably produced apparel doesn’t have to be plain and simple.
Our bespoke prints are designed in-house and take inspiration from the breathtaking seascapes around the world, ensuring escape is only one wardrobe piece away. Responsibly sourced fabrications are crafted into distinctly feminine and elegant signature staples that transcend trends and stand the test of time. Keenly conscious of the environment that inspires her, our founder Naomi releases each collection in strictly limited quantities to prevent over-production and excess consumption.
Come and see our collection, try it on and be transported to coastal oases far and wide!
Born out of an inability to find sustainable and ethical clothing that embraces sophisticated prints and colours, founder Naomi Swalwell sought to spearhead this emerging womenswear label. Using skills she acquired in an already successful fashion apparel career, Naomi’s new label is a sartorial emersion into nostalgia, coastal living and incredibly wearable garments.
