Ricepaper the Label was founded in 2017 with the passionate intention of creating simple, elegant and ethical clothing for the Australian fashion market. Their creations are timeless, expertly crafted and entirely classic in shape, form and the story they tell. The team strives to minimise consumption and waste through their timeless designs that they hope will endure through every passing season. They remain transparent in regard to their processes, just like a sheet of rice paper, and their pieces are just as versatile and valued.
From pattern designing and making, through to sampling and cutting, the entirety of their production process remains right here in Australia, across both Sydney and Melbourne. Plus, to ensure that working conditions are fair, they visit their brilliant makers every week to check in and connect. Ricepaper have even pledged to eradicate all plastic from their business, using compostable mail satchels for all online orders, which alone is cause for applause.
The brand sees it as their personal responsibility to only use fibres that they trust wholeheartedly, and as they continue to grow, they are putting more time and energy into what fibres they choose to use. Think environmentally fibres like soft organic cotton, breathable Tencel, plus ethically-sourced hemp and linen – only the best of the best. Each of their stunning pieces is a considered work of art in itself. It will definitely stand the test of time and will become an item not just to be worn, but to be treasured.
We create simple, elegant and ethical womenswear.
We believe in transparency in manufacturing within the fashion industry.
Each of our pieces is designed and made in Melbourne; we believe in quality of fabrics and workmanship; and we strive for complete transparency in the sourcing and manufacturing processes.
We will be showcasing our Autumn/Winter collection to the public for the first time.
Ricepaper The Label was inspired by our dedication to transparency (just like a sheet of rice paper). We believe in creating pieces that are timeless, versatile and enduring. Our collection is full of long-lasting pieces that are trans-seasonal, encouraging mindful consumption and minimisation of waste.Back Next
