Ceramicist and artist, Samantha Robinson, has a self-confessed obsession with colour and pattern. She truly is master of her trade, with each of her stunning porcelain pieces being lovingly handmade in her Sydney ceramics studio and then also printed and expertly finished by hand. She uses only the finest porcelains for her collection, and each piece is an example of her inimitable use of form and colour.
Her collection of bright and colourful products includes vases, tableware, candle holders and illuminators, teapots and even Christmas decorations, plus her ingenious watermelon and belly bowls (moulded from actual pregnant bellies!).
Her original tableware designs have been selected by Australian chefs to showcase their own culinary creations including Jamie Oliver and Kylie Kwong. She has even launched a range of restaurant quality stoneware, linen cushions and hand printed fabrics to add to her lovely and growing collection that is beloved the world over.
Samantha completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National Art School and followed this with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (with Honours). Her practice is bolstered by an inherent knowledge of art and culture, meaning her fun and light-hearted ceramics are also intelligent and considered, too. With this high-art sentiment kept at the forefront of her practice, Samantha regularly exhibits in gallery spaces and also sells her work through a selection of boutique retailers across the globe.
Samantha and her team create beautiful handmade ceramics in her Sydney-based studio. Every piece is handmade with love and unique in its own way. No two creations will ever be exactly the same.
We are solving the issue of ceramics made in ram press machines that hold no love or character. We also provide consumers with locally made ceramics that are usable and accessible.
We will be selling our collection of colourful printed porcelain including teacups, watermelons, belly bowls (cast from actual pregnant bellies), and illuminators (vases/tealight holders). We will also be selling our stoneware and some of our new restaurant work which has been increasingly popular in the home as it is a bit more durable and has a beautiful, earthy, handmade feel to it. We are also very excited to do a workshop where we get everyone hands on with a bit of clay and have lots of messy fun!
After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National Art School, and then a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honors) at Sydney College of the Arts, Samantha established her Sydney based ceramic design studio. Samantha has created large scale, unique artworks in porcelain alongside collections that have become well-loved and coveted worldwide. Samantha uses the environment around her as inspiration for her artwork. She loves organic shapes and likes everything to be a little off-centre. She is quite well known for her porcelain ware, however, has recently been creating work from stoneware and applying unique glazes she has invented herself. These have been particularly popular in the restaurant world, with many restaurants asking her to design bespoke collections just for them.Back Next
