We’re lucky enough to be partnering with incredibly talented designers and makers who are bringing beauty to our spaces in a way that doesn’t cost the planet. The Conscious Space will play host to homewares creators from across Australia who are helping us to live better, beautifully. We’re highlighting just a couple who are going above and beyond: beautifully made and beautifully intentioned homewares, for our home and for the planet we call home too.
Koala – The phrase “no worries” drives everything that the forward-thinking, planet loving team at Aussie furniture brand Koala do. Founders Dany and Mitch set out to change the way we furnish our homes: without the unnecessary costs to the planet and people. Koala make furniture from sustainably sourced materials, deliver to your door in 4 hours with a risk-free 120-night trial, and donate to the WWF with every mattress, sofa, bed base and sofa bed sold.
Lola Mott – Designer and creative Lola Mott harnesses the 13th century art of macrame to create unique rustic macramé tapestries, wall-hangings and hand-loomed weavings from all-natural fibres. Each work by Lola is unique: a celebration of the beauty of originality in art and life.
AbanEco – Filipino-born creative Aubrey Abanico founded eco-homewares brand AbanEco on a mission to empower local artisans and change the way we fill our homes: away from thoughtless, disposable plastic towards soulful pieces which go beyond function and form. The plastic-free range spans from bamboo straws to natural woven purses: all handmade from natural fibres by Filipino artisans, empowering them to create and keep ancient artforms alive
GreeenHouse Co – A lot of us will agree that there is no better decor than a plant, and GreenHouse Co are solving the problem of keeping these household additions alive in a way that doesn’t compromise on aesthetic. GreenHouse Co pair beautiful handmade ceramics pots with easy-to-care-for plants, so no more functional plastic pots or re-potting disasters. And GreenHouse Co are ethical across the board: they deliver their products in fully recyclable packaging through carbon neutral couriers, and donate $1 from every product sold to an environmental charity of their choice (currently Rainforest Rescue).
Other sustainable, ethically governed homewares brands exhibiting at The Conscious Space will be announced soon, so keep an eye on the website and our Instagram for updates. Limited tickets to The Conscious Space are still available here.
