Our Office Does: Citizen Wolf

As part of our dedication to championing an ethical approach to work, we’re shining a light on the workplaces making work-life more enriching for their employees.

This week, we spoke with the team at Citizen Wolf – the industry-disrupting ethical fashion brand making internationally recognised, sustainably designed and ethically produced custom tees and zero waste accessories.

Citizen Wolf co-founder Zoltan Csaki joined us at The Conscious Space event in Sydney, and discussed the complex topic of ethical fashion on a panel hosted by Anna Saunders, alongside Camilla Schippa (CEO of The Social Outfit) and Angela Foong (co-founder of High Tea With Mrs Woo).

With sustainability front and centre in the brand’s identity, we were keen to learn how an ethical approach is incorporated into office culture (and the factory is open to the public Monday – Saturday, so you can see for yourself if you’re keen to learn more).

When asked about their office culture, and the The Citizen Wolf team explained:

We’re not your average office here at Citizen Wolf, and that’s because we’re not your average fashion brand either. Our mission is to re-engineer the way clothes are made at scale to save our planet, and we do that by manufacturing on demand using our Magic Fit® technology… So you won’t find cubicles or swivel chairs here – think more laser cutters and Golden Retrievers instead (good visual image, right?).

We are all sorts of weird & wonderful contrasts at the Citizen Wolf factory, traditional yet futuristic – you’ll find carbon negative tees and carbon neutral milk alike, and a laser cutter sat right next to our seamstresses. We’re all here in one common space with one common goal, to change business as usual which has seen the fashion industry become the second biggest polluting industry after oil and gas, and second most at risk for modern slavery.

As an ECA accredited and B Corp certified business, transparency is at the core of who we are. Our entire team of 10 sits under the one roof in our St. Peters factory – from sewing to social media – which means that we can ensure our values are woven all the way through everything we do. This makes for a more personal connection to our product and process, which we invite our customers to be a part of too by opening our factory to the public. So come and witness the future of fashion for yourself, we’re open Monday – Saturday.
