Our goal is simple: to create stylish yet practical age-appropriate swimwear that supports our active lifestyles, our love of fashion and our respect for our planet. But how do we actually do it? Come with us as we learn what it takes to launch our own clothing line at age 12, and let us know what you think. Because, you know, WE ARE THE YOUTH and this is all about what works for us. It’s time for us to have our say!
Please give us your elevator pitch:
Cinnamon Cove is a new swimwear brand by two 12 year-olds, Myla and Liv. The goal is simple: to create stylish yet practical age-appropriate swimwear that supports active lifestyles, a love of fashion and respect for our planet.
What problem is your business solving:
During COVID lockdown, we were going to the beach pretty much every afternoon, and as the weather started to warm up we began to notice that there weren’t really any swimsuits that we LOVED. Most of them were either too babyish, (and we didn’t want to be wearing the same swimmers as our little sisters) or scarily skimpy. It seemed like no one was really consulting our age group on design. We were also learning about slow fashion and sustainability, and wanted to find a way to talk to our age group about this. So we decided to take things into own hands and produce our own eco-friendly swimwear. Our goal was to create stylish, sustainable yet practical swimsuits that support our active lifestyles, our love of fashion and our respect for our planet.
Tell us three unique things about your business:
"Hi Myla & Liv Congratulations on one year with Cinnamon Cove, in the past year I've purchased my 2 favourite swimwear items! I hope that the beach event went well and I wish I could have been there, a bit hard if you live in Tassie! I saw the pictures and it looked amazing! Congratulations again on you fabulous brand! :D"
