Re/Co from Mundane Matters

What problem is your business solving?

Re/Co is addressing three of the world’s biggest environmental problems: plastic pollution, household chemical pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

Tell us three unique things about your business:

1. Designed by people, for people

2. Refill only, no waste

3. Goodness only, no nasties

What can attendees expect to see from you at TCS?

We will be presenting our lemon myrtle laundry powder and dishwasher powder. There will be 100g samples and a limited number of 1kg full-size product for sale. We will also be taking pre-order for our April dispatch.

Can you tell us a little about your background and where the inspiration came from for your business?

I have been working in design and marketing for more than 12 years and running Mundane Matters for 5 years. Mundane Matters designs digital media, experiences and products that inspire positive environmental and social change.

Since running Mundane Matters, I have been learning about the environmental crisis in the world and voicing for sustainable living as the solution to these problems. In 2018, with support from the City of Sydney’s Art & About program, Mundane Matters worked with 9 other local businesses and volunteers, to build Wasteland. This 24-metre tall installation in Customs House at Circular Quay was made from marine plastics collected from the Great Barrier Reef. The project has taught me about the process and cost of recycling and inspired me to look for other solutions to help solve the plastic problem – that becomes the beginning of the Re/Co journey.
