Subpod makes composting easy. It turns your food waste into living soil, without the smells, mess or pests.
Food waste management, food accessibility, and soil degradation are all mammoth problems globally, and they demand mass scale proactiveness and effective systems and solutions.
Effective composting is one of the keys to solving these problems. Composting can be an incredibly powerful process to transform organic waste into fertile soil to grow nutrient-dense food. Until now the methods have been mostly haphazard and labour-intensive or of the industrial scale.
The effectiveness of the Subpod in creating a waste transformed to food growing ecosystem proves that a simple, easy-to-use system, working with nature can help solve these problems right in your own space.
We love sharing the wonderful world of microbes and worms with everyday people.
We believe in empowering people and community. So we have allocated over 150 free Subpods to schools and communities. We want to enable 20,000 more people to compost by 2020, This will divert over 10k tonnes of waste from landfill, and produce 400+ tonnes of fresh food per year.
A new perspective on composting. One that is exciting, empowering and cools the planet
Over the last four years, the Subpod team have dreamt of making composting a part of everyday living. Recognising the challenges with normal composting, we decided to go underground and work natural systems. The result is Subpod, a compost system with zero smells, mess or hard work.
