The Daily Bar creates organic and nutritionally superior snack bars, handmade in Byron Bay. We take our snacking very seriously, and the carefully crafted, nutrient dense (and delicious!) bars reflect this. We are proud to use ingredients that are pure, wholesome and honest to their roots, and as a brand we aspire to be pioneers of sustainability within the food industry.

What problem is your business solving?

The Daily Bar aims to bridge the gap between convenience + sustainability and honest health. Being time poor is no longer an excuse to not be looking after yourself and the planet.

Tell us three unique things about your business:

  1. Owned and operated by a twenty-something year old woman and her team of young, innovative creators, passionate about not only creating that oh-so perfect snack, but a lifestyle and brand that represents who we are and our way of life
  2. Born and bred (and handmade) in Byron Bay, we are strong believers in sustainable living. Our mantra of sustainability is reflected in our desire to encourage sustainable snacking for the body, and sustainable living to reduce our impact on the planet. Our packaging is 100% home compostable, recycled card printed with vegetable inks, with a renewably sourced plant based inner wrapper. And, as a manufacturer and business, we are working towards creating a closed loop waste system.
  3. Nutritionally superior: No faux health around here! Our nutrient-dense bars are designed to meet the needs of the modern-day busy lifestyle – no compromises! Pioneering the refrigerated snack space allows us to be able to meet the shelf life constraints of the retailer, while being able to keep delivering the highest quality product possible to the consumer. Using refrigeration as the sole preservation method, enables us to produce a truly superior product to that of those on the shelves full of preservatives.

Can you tell us a little about your background and where the inspiration came from for your business?

Having always been a foodie, and with young fresh eyes, I noticed that a lot of things didn’t make sense to me about the current food system in Australia. What we eat and how we fuel ourselves (so ultimately our health and how we feel) is predominantly driven by commercial viability. I felt like there was so much opportunity, and to some extent necessity, to bring real food and simple, honest health into the mainstream. There was also a necessity for businesses to reduce their impact on the planet (this was non-negotiable for us). I think the combination of purpose and passion is a force to be reckoned with, so the inspiration for the brand just flooded in.
